1. Only Sustainable Wood Rods
We utilize the only window hardware company known to use ONLY certified sustainably reforested wood for our wood rods.

We endorse The Forest Stewardship Council (www.fscus.org) which facilitates the adoption of a coordinated and common approach to forestry that includes planned, rational and effective management and utilization of the forest resources, consistent with the need to maintain the forest as a long term renewable resource.
The massive-scale deforestation and mining of Tibet's resources has accelerated the destruction of a fragile and formerly untouched environment, endangering rare species of animals, birds and medicinal plants. At present there are 81 species of endangered animals on the Tibetan plateau.

We do not buy wood from China. Findings reported in Tibet 2000: Environment and Development Issues (tibet.com), states the felling of 46% of pre-1950 forest cover has lead to siltation, growing desertification, and flood disasters in China and South Asia.

2. PCW Upcycled Aluminum
Our Aluminum rods are custom milled out of 99%PCW (Post Consumer Waste)recycled aluminum with a 1% virgin aluminum coating. Our aluminum products are 100% post-consumer waste material. Both are recyclable. Keep recycling your aluminum cans!
The aluminum hardware we offer is a sleek modern example of “upcycling”. When a product is recycled into a more expensive better quality product, it increases the recycled materials basic value.
The Glass Bubble Balls are hand made directly from glass beverage bottles without the high-energy “cullet” glass process in-between.

3. Hand Tortoise Shelled Bamboo
Our tortoise shell finish is a 3,000 year old style that is achieved with earth, fire, and water using no paints or lacquers.

Some bamboo products last hundreds of years, notable ancient Chinese furnishings and European export furnishings.  Bamboo is the fastest growing renewable resource on the planet.

This is a grass product; therefore, one end is larger than the other. Our Bamboo rods and rings are from the fastest growing renewable resource. These rods have been carefully selected for special size and quality.

4. Low VOC Finishes
Our Hardware is painted with old world hand finished antiquing. Our wood stains are water base. We use the lowest VOC finishes possible, regardless of cost. Our new metal Finishes Collection are made with water based, low impact, low VOC(Volatile Organic Compounds) paint. Much better for the environment than some of the chemical and heavy metal run off from actual metal casting processes.
For 2” scale, instead of a wood rod please use our new 1 ¾” metal expandable rod. All metal finishes look best on metal rods.

5. Recycled Steel

• Our steel drapery rods, rings and finials are 100% recycled steel from new energy efficient mini mills.
• Our other steel products are minimum 65% post consumer waste recycled steel.
• Please Recycle Again!

6. Minimal Packaging

• We use minimal packaging; and only out of recycled materials.
• The bubble wrap and plastic bags we use are from 100% recycled plastic
• Our paper is recycled, with various blends of post-industrial and post- consumer recycled material.
